Wanaaring

Our Day 1 destination (Monday, 31 May) is Wanaaring, which is a small township of around 100 residents, located on the banks of the Paroo River.    Established in the nineteenth century to service the growing wool industry, Wanaaring, like Bourke, features in some of Henry Lawson's outback tales and poems.

Camping accommodation in Wanaaring includes the campground, the community hall and a range of informal sites around town and along the Paroo River.  The evening meal will be provided courtesy of the Outback Inn
