Hungerford

Our Day 8 destination (Monday, 7 June) is Hungerford, with a short visit to Thargomindah on the way.  An outback community of some 1,000 residents, Thargomindah offers a range of services as well as points of historical interest.

Hungerford is a small rural village located on the Queensland side of the dog fence that separates Queensland and NSW.  Its focal point is the Royal Mail Hotel, which became a Cobb and Co staging post in 1875.

For Outback Land Rover Heritage Drive participants, there are unpowered sites and facilities at the sportsground, and an evening meal supplied courtesy of the local progress association.  This will be our last evening together, so expect some fun!
